Ok, So me & my husband are going to a Halloween party next weekend, & I am 4 months pregnant! & I have NO idea of any costumes that LOOK ok while pregnant? My belly IS poking out pretty noticeably? And I just dont have a clue? I would like to find an idea that me & my husband could do as a couple… & we are also on a budget, So maybe do-it-yourself costumes that are cheap??? SO ANY IDEAS ANYONE??? please help!!!

It isn’t too hard to get a good costume when pregnant. I went to a Costume party where a pregnant woman wore 70′s style long dress – with the beads and hippie cloth band, she looked quite nice.

You can use existing Maternity-wear for eg, a top and pants and just get a hat with a toy machine gun (if they are still allowed nowadays) and you have a old gangster look – call yourself Ma Baker (from that Boney M song) or Married to the Mob.

Have a look at some of the costumes below which show that you can do well with a costume even when pregnant. Use that as inspiration to make one of your own or to purchase as you need.

Some Ideas for Pregnant Woman During Holloween

The minute you begin your pregnancy everything is changing, your body, your clothes sizes, even your looks. But that doesn’t mean you have to skip out on your favorite holidays, like Halloween. Being pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t dress up. Whether you are buying your costume or making them yourself, you can have fun. There are many costumes you can buy for couples or just for yourself. The Pregnancy couple may want to go as a baker and an oven, or an egg and bacon bit. Both outfits are really cute and creative, you can even make them at home if you chose too. 

If you want to get really creative you can make your own costumes, here are a few costumes that you can make just using your belly and normal clothes are:

The eyeball- This is something my husband created, all you need is a little facial paint and black clothes. This is something even a person that can’t draw can have a little bit of fun with.  Wear all black clothes on Halloween and paint your belly white, make the center of the eye whatever color you desire and don’t forget the red veins. Make it scary or cute, whatever fits your desire. Have a bit of fun and show off that tummy by keeping the shirt up or wear a shirt that shows your tummy. My husband got a kick out of this one and was so excited that he got to do the artwork.

If you want to dress up completely but not stand out, try going as a human pumpkin. Wear a tiny green cap or make one out of felt and all orange, if you can cut a slit in your shirt for your belly to stick out. Now, paint it orange and decorate your pumpkin.

A pea is another simple costume you can make and stay warm. Go find some green jeans or sweats and a green sweatshirt. Keep the shirt up or cut a hole in it to make your little pod stick out and paint it all green.

If you aren’t feeling up to having a full body costume, you could always just paint the belly and proudly show it off. After all, how often will you be pregnant? Think of anything that is round: basketball, volleyball, soccer ball, a bowling ball, etc

Don’t forget witches were mothers too, so if you’ve always dressed as a witch for Halloween you don’t have to stop the tradition. This year go as a pregnant witch or maybe a witch holding a pumpkin. Use that belly!

A Bun in the oven- Get a medium or small box, cut it out so that you can wear it over your shoulders. Make room for your head to slide through. Decorate it with paints like an oven. Cut open the front of the box so that it will open and close. On the outside of the box write, “Bun in the Oven.” Paint your belly a light beige for all to see the little baby bun.

I am going to be around 35 weeks for Halloween, and wanted to be something fun. do you think going as Brittney Spears and having my hubby be Kevin Federline would be a good idea? i was thinking of getting the shirt that says “i have the golden ticket” that she always wore. any other ideas?

Halloween is almost here and there are chances that you will be attending or hosting a Halloween party and will have to find a costume.

Being a big-sized person, whether that occurs because of maternity or because of some other cause, has some disadvantages and one of them is when the calendar comes around Halloween. Halloween costume ideas are slightly problematic to find for this specific category of people. However that does not mean that there is no solution and that you won’t take part to the holiday. For instance, if you are pregnant, why not precisely attend the Halloween party as a pregnant woman? For example, if you search in the newspapers and notice a renowned celebrity that is pregnant, you can do your hair, make-up and outfit up to look like that famous person, you surely will have a lot of fun walking around the party all night and and so acting like that celebrity for the pleasure of the other guests at the party. This is a good example of taking a less than optimal situation and turning it into something highly possible.

Animal are also good costume ideas for people that are big-sized. Whatever animal costume will do at last, but if you feel like having a bit sense of humor with the occasion you may decide to go as an animal that people frequently use as an insult to plus sized people. These animals include things such as elephants and hippos and obviously when you narrate the story of your costume you can toss that in for good measure. Sense of humor may get the better of a lot of negative circumstances in life and the Halloween costume theme is only one of the many ways in which that is manifested.
